I have been described as a serious person, but someone who also has a dry and goofy sense of humor. I've been told that it tends to come out in subtle ways when it's least expected. However, for as serious as I am, I do love to laugh and "let my hair down" at times. Laughter is good for the soul.

Things I enjoy:  First, there's Thai and other ethnic foods, pasta, chicken, salmon, chocolate, peanut butter, cappuccino, tiramisu and white wine. Eucalyptus, calla lilies, tulips, and purple irises; weeping willow trees, picnics in the park, toasted marshmallows and fireplaces. Then there are word games like Boggle and Scrabble, road trips, scrapbooking, and ice cream, just to name a few.

Ever since I was a little girl, I can remember how much I have enjoyed being outside in the garden. Whether it be a flower garden, or a vegetable garden, I was there. As a child, I recall picking strawberries in my mother's strawberry patch, as well as "hanging out" in her vegetable garden waiting for the peas to be ripe enough to take out of their pods. I even loved to eat the peas raw! As a teenager and adult, I have spent many hours in the dirt, pulling weeds, planting flowers, and trimming shrubs. I'm not afraid to get dirty! I take great pleasure in cultivating the gardens I've worked in and am proud of the beautiful things I've been able to watch grow in these gardens.

I have many other interests in life...including movies, art, Broadway shows, dining in and out, reading, intelligent conversation, poetry, the outdoors, fishing, boating, swimming, traveling and theatre. Although I am not particularly active in sports because of some physical limitations , I have always been an avid spectator of gymnastics and ice skating, watching them on television since the time I was a little girl, and occasionally catching a skating show or gymnastics meet in-person. Some of my best friends were active in these sports, both as coaches and competitors, so I was always glad to cheer them on.

I still enjoy reading and am particularly fond of the best-selling author, Nicholas Sparks. Although all of his books are incredibly well-written, my favorites are "The Notebook," and "The Wedding." I most recently read his autobiography entitled, "Three Weeks With My Brother," and that, too, was fabulous. Other books that I highly recommend by other authors would be "An Unquiet Mind" and "Against Tall Odds."

I have been known to be adventurous and am always willing to explore and try something new. A little adventure is always fun, especially if you have someone to be adventureous with! My latest "adventure" has brought me to my new home in Southwest Idaho, where I reside with my husband, William, and son, Justin.  For those of you who need a refresher on your geography, Idaho is out West, next to the State of Oregon.  Idaho is bordered by several other States including Washington, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada.  To our far North, we are bordered by British Columbia, Canada!

I am a very sentimental person. I save everything. Well, not EVERYTHING, but just about! I have a tendency to save anything of sentimental value to me. Thank God for digital cameras! Collecting photographs is something that I have always enjoyed, especially when travelling, but even moreso now that I am "Aunt Jenn" to my nephews, Aidan and Everett. I enjoy taking pictures from various occasions or events in my life, and have put together several photo albums that tell stories, each representing a different moment in my life. As Jim Croce once sang, "...a picture paints a thousand words...".

I love all kinds of music, however, contemporary christian seems to be my favorite. I enjoy listening to Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, Jars of Clay, Mercy Me and Chris Tomlin. I am also fond of solo piano - I LOVE George Winston's "December" CD and everything by Jim Brickman, as well as piano solo stylist, Daniel, and Paul Cardall... then last but certainly not least...Air Supply, Elton John, Billy Joel, James Blunt, and Daughtry.

Although I try to always look at the bright side of life and find a reason to smile, I can be stubborn and moody, and have a tendency to be extremely sensitive at times. However, when I'm happy, I'm generally REALLY happy. I am fortunate to count several experiences in my life as those that have brought me genuine happiness. They are moments I will always treasure. Additionally, as I'm growing older and experiencing God in my life on a more consistent basis, I've learned that, as it says in His Word, "the joy of the Lord is my strength." It is my prayer that the joy of the Lord will be YOUR strength, as well. Wow, I was just thinking that this all sounds so "warm and fuzzy" but truthfully, I sometimes find it a struggle to feel the joy. However, I believe we have two choices in life...one, dig ourselves a hole in the ground and hide when life gets tough...or...2, wipe away the tears, hold up your head and make the decision to accept what is and make the most of it. It's not always easy, but I prefer option #2 every time.

JUST ME

Accept me as I am - I have no guarantee.
A claim to perfection I have not.
Perfect I cannot be.
I, like you...am human,
prone to make mistakes.
Failure is not a character flaw,
just a part of the human makeup.
I live, I laugh, and I also learn.
My knowledge is incomplete.
I am searching all the time,
in waking hours, as well as sleep.
I have a long road to travel,
as well as you do.
We learn our lessons on the way.
Wisdom we shall acrue.
Accept me as I am
because I am...me
and you are you.
No one like me in the world,
That is my only guarantee.
God Bless You
J. Heart
